Community focus areas
We invest donations and volunteer hours to deliver community outcomes into four areas:

1) Families, children, and youth have opportunities to reach their full potential
Mentoring programs, child and / or family support programs, programs for disadvantaged or at-risk children and youth, alternative education programs
2) People have access to resources that help meet immediate and basic needs
Crisis accommodation / emergency housing, drug and/or alcohol rehabilitation programs, telephone counselling
3) All people have the opportunity to become as self sufficient as possible
Services for people with a physical or intellectual disability, programs for deaf / hearing impaired, services for people with degenerative diseases
4) Our ageing family, friends and neighbours enjoy physical, emotional and mental well-being
Aged care services, geriatric rehabilitation, services to dementia sufferers & carers.
Community Needs Analysis
Every two years, United Way Ballarat invites representatives from the health and wellbeing sector to a workshop to establish the current areas of greatest need in the Ballarat district. Whilst the categories remain the same, the emphasis changes each time and the Community Needs Analysis reflects these changes. This document is then used as a guideline when making an application for funding and also by the Allocations Committee when considering these applications.
