VITAL, VALUED, VICTORIANS campaign launched, aimed at valuing emergency volunteers
The Victorian Government has launched the 'Vital, Valued, Victorians' campaign, which is aimed at valuing emergency volunteers.
The focus of this campaign are: The Country Fire Authority, the State Emergency Service, Life Saving Victoria, Community Emergency Response Teams and the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard.
A new website, www.volunteer.vic.gov.au features a Wall, where messages of support and appreciation for Victoria's 84,000 emergency volunteers can be posted by the public. SMS messages may also be sent through 0488 50 50 50, with the subject "Vols".
Stories about emergency volunteers, a section describing preventative action that people can do to help, some fact and figures and information on how to become a volunteer are also included in the website.
